Assign products to a category using import/export

How to get to Product Category Import/Export

  1. Login to your zeckoShop admin
  2. Go to Index > Product Categories > Imports/Exports

Prepare your Import Spreadsheet

  1. From the Product Category Imports/Exports, click Export beside the Assigned Products
  2. Click Run Export
  3. Open the downloaded .csv file
  4. Clean up the data but keep the headers: 
  5. Fill out the spreadsheet with:
    1. PartNum - The part number for the product
    2. ProductCodeID - The category code the product should be in
    3. IsDefault - Sets whether the category is the default for the specified product if the product exists in multiple categories. 
    4. SequenceNum - Sets the manual sort order of products when viewing the category.  Fill with 0s if not using manual sorting. See more information below
  6. Save the file

    Import your file into zeckoShop

    1. Go back to Category Imports/Exports page in your zeckoShop admin
    2. Besides Assigned Products, Click Import
    3. Click Choose File
    4. Browse and Open the file
    5. Wait for Import to complete - "Successfully imported _ item(s)." message will appear.
    Remember to test your changes on the site after you are done.

    Category Sequence Number

    Category sequence number allows for manual sorting of products within a category.  

    Setting the sequence number is optional as your website can sort products by part number, short description, price, or other fields. If you do not want to use manual sorting on category pages then the SequenceNum field can be set to 0.

    When setting SequenceNum lower numbers will be shown first. In this example when viewing the A00 category, and sorting by sequence number, part01 will be shown first, then part02, part03, etc.
