Manage Categories

Add a Category

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click + New
  3. On the New Category screen
    1. Code: Enter your category code
    2. Active: (Optional) Check the box to make the category immediately available on the front end
    3. Title: Enter the name of the category to show on the category browse page
    4. Description: (Optional) Enter a description to show on the category browse page
  4. Click Save

Delete a Category

Delete a category to remove it from the site. This removes it from the front end of the site and the administration panel. All associated configuration will be deleted.
To delete a category:
  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  next to the category you want to delete
  3. On the Confirm Action: Delete Category popup
    1. Delete Subcategories: Enable if you want to delete any subcategories on the category you are deleting
    2. Click Delete
This can't be undone. If you will use your category again in the future disable it instead.

Enable a Category

Enable a category when you want it to show on the front end of your website
To enable a category:
  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  next to the category you want to edit
  3. Check Active
  4. Click Save

Disable a Category

Disable a category to remove it from the front end of the site. The category will still be available in the administration panel  and can be enabled again later.
To disable a category:
  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  next to the category you want to edit
  3. Uncheck Active
  4. Click Save

Manage Category Images

Category images are shown on your category browse pages and when viewing a category that has child categories.

Add a Category Image

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  next to the category you want to edit
  3. Click Images →
  4. Click Choose Files to select a file from your computer
  5. Click Open

Delete a Category Image

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  next to the category you want to edit
  3. Click Images →
  4. Click  beside the image you want to delete

Manage Product Assignments

Assign Products

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  next to the category you want to edit
  3. Click Assigned Products →
  4. On the Assigned Products screen:
    1. Search Products: Enter the part number and select it from the autocomplete dropdown
    2. Is Default: (optional) Select if this is the default category for your product
  5. Click + button on the right
If the + button doesn't work verify your part number. Delete the last character of the part number to bring up the autocomplete list. Click your part in the list and try the + again.

Remove Products

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click Edit next to the category you want to edit
  3. Click Assigned Products →
  4. Click  for the product you want to remove
  5. Click Yes to confirm

Export Assigned Products

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  on the Category you want to export from
  3. Click Assigned Products →
  4. Click Export 
  5. Name your export
  6. Click Run Export

Import Product Assignments

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  on the Category you want to import to
  3. Click Assigned Products →
  4. Click Import
  5. Click Browse... 
  6. Find your csv file and click Open
  7. Click Close

Category Hierarchy

Create a category hierarchy to add structure to your site when browsing by category, or when setting up the menu. Each category can have one parent category and multiple child categories.

Add a Parent Category

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  on the category you want to edit
  3. Click Parent Categories →
  4. On the Parent Category Page
    1. Search Categories: Enter the category code or category name and select your category from the autocomplete
    2. Click the +

Delete a Parent Category

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  on the category you want to edit
  3. Click Parent Categories →
  4. Click 
  5. Click Yes to confirm

Add Child Categories

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  on the category you want to edit
  3. Click Child Categories →
  4. On the Child Category page
    1. Search Categories: Enter the category code or category name and select your category from the autocomplete
    2. Click the +

Remove Child Categories

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  on the category you want to edit
  3. Click Child Categories →
  4. On the Child Category page
    1. Click  for the child category you want to remove
    2. Click Yes to confirm

Ordering child categories

  1. From the Administration Index, select Product Categories > Listing
  2. Click  for the Category you want to edit
  3. Click Child Categories →
  4. Find the entry for the Child Category you wish to change
  5. Click and hold Move and drag the entry to the desired location
  6. Repeat steps 5-6 for any other Child Categories
  7. Confirm your ordering and click Save Ordering on the bottom of the page

Order Top Level Categories

You can adjust the order the top level categories display by going to Product Categories > Organise Top Level and dragging the categories using the  controls. This impacts the menu and /categories page.
