Provide Limited Admin Access for role: User

Use Case: Provide Limited Admin Access for role: User

i.e. Access just SEO settings from the admin, index; without granting full administrative permissions.

Role: User

User goal:

As an Administrator/Superuser, I would like to provide an admin access to our SEO manager, so that they can make SEO modifications by themselves.

To set this up: 

Pre-requisites:
1. Must be an Administrator/Superuser to set this up.
2. Assuming that a user already exists, role must be USER and test on incognito and make sure that you can sign-in ( i.e. Username: testThis)

I. Set up the Condition:

  1. Go to Admin, Index > System >> Conditions, and click [+New]
  2. Set the ff.:
    • Name: i.e. SEOAdmin
    • Group: Admin Permissions
    • Rule Matcher: All
  3. Click [Save]

after saving you should see:

Set the ff.
Type: User
Operator:

 =

Value:  [User account i.e. testThis]
  • Click [Save]


II. Set up Admin Permissions

  1. Go to: Admin, Index > Users >> Admin Permissions
  2. Look for the setting you want the user to access (i.e. Can Administer SEO)
  3. Click the eye button
  4. and select the condition we setup earlier: SEOAdmin
  5. Click [Save]

To check: sign-in as the user and check if you have access to the modified Admin Permission condition (i.e. SEO settings) please see Goal/Expected Behavior at the top.
