Add a related file or document
How it looks like:
The Related Files feature allows clients to upload files, for example PDFs, that are associated with specific products or whole product categories. This could be something like product user guides, ingredients lists, or what have you.
Prerequisites:
- Make sure you have the necessary files on hand.
- can handle the following file formats: ".doc", ".pdf", ".jpg", ".png", ".gif", ".jpeg", ".xls", ".txt", ".wmv", ".mp4", ".mov", ".avi", ".flv".
- The second step is knowing what products you intend to relate these files to. You will need to know the part numbers to do this.

I. To Enable the "Show Product Details" option:
1. Go to Admin Index→ Products → Details Settings.
2. Scroll down until you see the Show Product Details option
Pro tip: use ctrl+F or cmd+ F and type: Show Product Details
Make sure that Active/Set checkbox is ✔️
There is also a checkbox labeled Show As A Tab (please check below to see how it will look like check & unchecked)
3. Click 'Save Changes'.
Assign related file types: Go to Admin, Index → Related Files → Related File Types.
Click the '+New' button as there are most likely no entries.
Assign a name, tick the 'Use for products' checkbox ✔️, and Click 'Save'.
- For Name: This can be any user/client-defined name to help them recognize the type.
- You could choose names like "Manuals" or "Schematics" to organize them.
- Use for Products: Make sure you tick the checkbox ✔️
- If you would like this document to appear In the category itself, click 'Use for Product Categories'.

Create as many types as you need, then proceed to the next step.
- Go to Admin Index→Related Files→Product Related Files.
- Click '+New' at the bottom of the screen.
- On this new Screen, complete as follows:
- Name: Type the name of the document as you would like it to appear on the website.
- Part Number: Start typing the product code.
- If it is in the database, an autocomplete box should appear.
- You can only type one part number at a time.
- Upload File: click 'Choose File' and locate the desired file on your computer. Make sure it is one of the supported formats. Click 'Open'.
- Wait until it says successfully uploaded.
- File Type: Use the drop-down to select the file type that was created in II. Creating the Related File Types
process above.
- Click 'Save'.
